Last summer we sold our house, bought a new one, and started to renovate. If you missed the “before” pictures, you can check them out here. As a designer, I’ll probably never feel finished with my own house but we made some big changes and I’m excited to share our kitchen renovation before and after with you today. It started out pretty dark– it had thick black countertops, a black mosaic tile backsplash, and original black appliances. I’m all about the light, bright, airy feel so we decided to give the space a face lift. It really wasn’t a gut renovation as we left the layout the same and kept the cabinets, but we made some high impact changes that give the space a whole new look. We had the cabinets sprayed white (Benjamin Moore Simply White,) replaced the countertops with Caesarstone (Frosty Carrina,) replaced the appliances with new stainless steel ones, changed out the backsplash to a classic white subway tile, and replaced the cabinet hardware. Here are the “before” picture:
And here are the “after” pictures:
I’m so happy with the results and although I miss the look of marble like we had in our old house, the Caesarstone has been amazing in terms of durability. I searched high and low for the perfect Carrara marble alternative and I would highly recommend Caesarstone. No chipping, etching, staining, or maintenance which is perfect for our growing family. I hope you enjoyed our kitchen renovation before and after! Check back for more before and after pictures soon! I’ll be sharing our bathrooms and foyer next.
